"Seek God and you will find God. Seek God in all things and you will find God in all things. Seek God always and you will find God always."
The Love of God Impels Us
“And as they were eating He took bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them and said, ‘Take, this is my body.’ And He took a cup and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them and they drank all of it and He said to them, ‘This is my blood of the New Covenant which is poured out for many. Truly I say to you, I shall not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.’”
Mark 14: 22- 26
Our participation in the Eucharist, as well as the Sacrament of Penance, is an opportunity for us to receive God’s graces and draw us deeper into the mystery of Christ.
Additionally, the sacraments nourishes us as we seek to live out our baptismal promises, as religious women, in a more profound and radical way.
Our founder, St. Vincent Pallotti, spoke of Christ as “the Divine Model” for all people – an example of a perfectly holy interior and exterior life. Thus, we utilize the sacraments of the Church, so that Christ can more perfectly transform us as we become partakers in His divinity.
Divine Office
The Divine Office is the official daily prayer of the Catholic Church and is the prayer offered to God by His Holy Church.
The Divine Office, also known as the Liturgy of the Hours, is a collection of hymns, psalms, and canticles of thanksgiving and praise.
Since the Divine Office, follows the rhythm of the Church’s liturgical season, it is natural preparation for the Mass as it encourages and fosters an attitude of faith, hope and love.
After the Eucharist, the Divine Office extends the prayer of the Mass and sanctifies the hours of the day.
While all members of the Catholic Church are encouraged to make this prayer their own, the Divine Office is an obligation of clergy and religious communities.
As priests, brothers and religious women throughout the world recite the Office multiple times per day, it collectively forms an unbroken chain of prayer – giving praise and thanksgiving to our God. By participating in the Office, we become a “link” to fulfill the Lord’s command to “pray without ceasing”.
While the Divine Office is a ceaseless prayer of praise and thanksgiving, the fruits of this prayer are that it draws us into a deeper love with our Lord and sanctifies the day and all our works of service.
As a religious community, each of our houses continue this tradition and pray the Divine Office in Community twice daily – in the mornings and evenings.
Remember that, through baptism, Jesus not only destroyed your deformity, but also sanctified, ennobled and enriched everything in you.
