Our Charism

There are different gifts but the same Spirit; there are different ministries but the same Lord; there are different works but the same God who accomplishes all of them in everyone.

(1 Cor. 12:4-6)

Charism is typically defined as the unique identifiable qualities of a religious order.  These qualities set a religious apart from other congregations.

In other words, charism is a living energy that is real and can be shared.  For our Pallottines Community, our charism is combination of:

  • Our founder – St. Vincent Pallotti, his example and mission
  • Our “story” and congregational history
  • Our vision and values
  • Our spiritual traditions

Our Pallottine charism is what gives perspective to our lives and is embodied within our daily community life.

Lastly, our charism is the gift that our religious congregation shares freely with members of our entire lay communities in which we serve.

“Holy cheerfulness and joy are also the distinctive characteristics of the servant of the Lord.  If cheerfulnes and joy are lacking, few will be attracted to follow Jesus Christ.”

St. Vincent Pallotti (OOCC II 163-164)
